@Kuehyn888 the biggest difference is photoshop uses raster graphics mainly, and illustrator uses vector. The difference being you can take a vector illustration the size of a dime, and enlarge it to fit an entire airplane while keeping the same exact resolution. Raster graphics you can’t do that…you lose resolution with even the slightest enlargement. Illustrator for the win!

Very helpful video. I drew a guy with the brush tool but now I can’t figure out how to colour him… am I going to have to have to draw blocks of colour like was done at 9:23? D:

@Kuehyn888 Illustrator is all vector, and Photoshop is all Bitmap. Those are the major difference of the two programs. Illustrator is more for cartoonist and designers and Photoshop is more for Photos and photo editing. I use Illustrator for art and drawing.

I understand Adobe Illustrator and I play around with it. But, honestly, what would you do with the image other then using Adobe Illustrator for? Yeah, I know you can convert to other formats. But then you lose the enlarging ability. The image that I have on my profile was done with Illustrator, then converted into jpg. Adobe Photoshop can do the same except enlarging the image. So, what do you use Illustrator for?

when I use the pencil in illustrator cs4, it automatically makes smooth vector lines, how can you use it in a sketchy way like you did?
