Comment by Jizzinthis on July 18, 2010 at 5:41 pm
@bwoark what i was told in school (for visual communication) Vector is an image, no matter what size you make it, can be resize to any size and doesn’t loose quality (which is what Illustrator is perfect for, vector based program) and a rapster (forgive spelling) is an image (mostly done in photoshop) that is pixel based, meaning it will loose its quality, either due to resizing or constant download when made into an actual image. I believe i said all that right lol.

calm down dude, the path is very useful will save you time instead of constantly undoing bad lines and redrawing, you just have to learn how to work it

illustrator is really good! my hand shakes all the time because of something but it draws a nice line:P

Wow, that’s amazing! I can draw pretty well, but when I try any of the drawing tools or brushes in Illustrator or Photoshop it makes me want to kill myself. I just draw on paper, scan it and pay a guy to trace my stuff in PShop or Illustrator.
Photoshop is especially daunting and discouraging. I started trying way back in 2000 and I’ve always had to walk away, discouraged, in order to keep from throwing the computer.
I respect people who can hang with it and get it, though, of course. Nice!

A vector is an ‘arrow’ in a certain direction. With properties, like colour, direction, shape etc.
Vectors are relative, while bitmaps are fixed. You cannot make bitmaps bigger without loss. With vectors you can.
But i think learning to write in a coherent way could also help you a lot.

it’s like… after many line ‘continuations’ IT erases all previous work i’ve done… it’s so frustating!

I’m in trouble. I’m using CS4 and the x refered to determine the end of a path only occurs if i select one trace with the selection tool, which will evidence the path, and then the x appear and disappear like you said, but somehow when i make many “continuations” to the endings of the same lime, it EVENTUALLY replaces all the previous trace i’ve done and continues from a new weird and sudden point.
