This is really useful tutorial for Illustrator. I could use this technique for many thing, not just for font. Thanx for posting!!

Hey thanks for the comment.
you know i would outline the font so that it all becomes a path with fill as opposed to just a font. and then after that draw a small rectangle through the middle of the text that you want to cut in half and then “divide” it all so they get separated.
try it out and tell me what you think. if you can’t get it message me and request it and ill throw the video up

how do you make text seem as if it’s been cut in half horizontally? For example the letter ‘C’ how would you seperate the top half from the bottom half, to look as if it’s been cut in to two?

hey i am glad the tutorial worked out. When you say write dots, do you mean the same thing that is going on here or an actual dotted line?
