Diamond Cut: The Basics – Cut, Part 1 – Facet structure of chapters 4Having a thorough understanding of the structural aspect of a diamond is crucial to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the cut. In this chapter we are going to collapse the structure of the facets of a diamond round and discuss the fundamental objective of the facets of the diamond. In the following chapters we will look into any shape, with its unique structure and facet to the cut surface, which could measure the angle and length combinations of facets of the beauty of stone. THE CROWNThe Table FacetFigure 4th 1
The table facet is the largest facet on the diamond. It is common to all ordinary forms (round, square, cushion, pear, marquise, etc), and cutting patterns produced in the market. The main function of the table element is to take the light in the diamond from above. There really shine of a diamond to reflect light from the diamond, it is important that a lot of light to be able to jump into the diamond-ender. To enter the maximum amount of light directly on the stone, a large flat facet on the tip of the diamond is of crucial importance. The “perfect” table size is a topic of intense discussion and debate among experts over the years, with each side is deeply rooted in their minds. As in many areas of the cut diamond, shows numerous positions overlap experts, there is a degree of credibility and consistency on each of its arguments. Instead of taking a position with a school of thought, we drag the intersection of the main search, scientific theories. There is no “one size fits all” when it comes to measures table. Everyone is in such a way that interacts uniquely with measures of other around him, a fortiori, from form to form, take appropriate measures table on emerging technologies and regulations. We will work closely with the optimal ranges for measures of table a little later if we fail in our discussion of the cache for each form of large diamond on the market. Something that is very important to remember not only with the veneer table, but with all the facets of a diamond, they live in a world of 3-dimensional and can move in several directions. In most cases, when examining an aspect of this measure, we are talking about a diameter, depth, length or angle. However, a facet can “move” another way, which must be taken into account. For example, the picture is not centered? If the table is tilted relative to the stone belt? The table is twisted or warped? The shape of the table is symmetrical? Is the facet of the stone structure symmetrical? Are the facets on the pavilion and crown aligned with each other? If the culet off-center? Is a facet is moved, bent, turned, chamfered, bent, etc. While this is an issue that can not be back until later in the touch, it seemed appropriate to mention it here to get the tone of the debate. The Star FacetsThe star facets are small, triangular facets that table, surrounded by stone, the question of “brilliant” reasons, such as round, oval, pear, heart, marquise, princess, radiant, etc., as a step towards alignment Cup as an emerald and Asscher, or even your own, as Lucida, Criss-cut, etc., we (will use their structures later) facet. See Figure 4 2. Figure 4 2
The stars are the first three sets of facets that make up the curved part of the crown of diamonds. Light entering these aspects will be folded, for they, unlike the light that comes across the table. See Figure 4 3 and 4 4. (These pictures are from a AGS diamond cut to ideal proportions, with one “Ray-trace light source in the model of how light through the stone to illustrate. Figure 4 3.
Figure 4 4
The many facets that make up the crown of the diamond are very important because it is lightweight, which is determined by the diamonds in both directions, if it turn into stone, leaving the stone. If those corners cut facets which are inconsistent or unfair, it will significantly affect the brightness and brilliance of diamonds. The most commonly used is to express the dimensions of the star facet, the length (expressed as a percentage of the distance that includes the facets between the table edge and the edge of the belt that has already been described in the first chapter of the tutorial). Again, there are many schools of thought, what is the optimal measure. Instead of proclaiming the perfect measure, it is interesting to watch how different facets star length of diamonds, and how their actions, when combined with measures different from the flag of the diamond to achieve different visual results in which it is possible to find different symptoms, which may appeal more to a person other than a complaint. The result of these truths is that no one measure is “the best”, but a series of measures and combinations considered. We are the various steps and combinations to break any form later in this tutorial. Bezel facets FacetsThe are the most important aspects of the crown of a diamond pattern with a “brilliant”. This is the angle of these aspects, such as the angle “crown” is displayed on laboratory reports. These are the main facets of the crown, and have the most influence on the performance of the light stone. The multiple facets of a diamond opening are shown in Figure 4. 5, below. Figure 4 5
Consider the statistics on important aspects telescope is its perspective. Then they covered the most important facets of the crown, they influence the bending of light than the other two groups of facets on the crown. To find the keys, a diamond cutter with good or very good is not created in the angular measurement in the bezel facets alone, but in combination with the angle of the facets of the bezel and pavilion main facets (facets Hall Principal will be discussed later in this chapter). It is this combination, the production is the bending and reflecting light. If one set of these facets fall in the right area, which corresponds to the variance in the non-faceted to be programmed to compensate the other. Affect concentration on good combinations and how this is a position on the diamond to reflect light is key if a diamond is to find the “World of Warcraft” factor. The upper girdle facets are FacetsThe superior facet that affects one side of the belt. Stones with a model “brilliant” rounds especially those facets little things can play a very important role. See Figure 4 6. Figure 4 6
There are two questions that address these facets, which affect the appearance and beauty of a diamond can achieve. They will both be covered under the section on cutting a round diamond. Then, when they know that these issues are also a painter and digging. Cut Like all other parts of the diamond, these points are called point of controversy and argument. We will carefully examine these issues later. THE PAVILIONThe Pavilion Pavilion main facets FacetsThe major, sometimes as the “network”, the most important facets, which extend from the culet of the diamond at the edge of the belt. These aspects are the majority of the light reflection from the flag of the charge of diamonds. This is the angle of these facets, which determine where the light of diamonds that will be taken into account. Figure 4 7
The measure used to express this aspect is a set of measures of angles. You can see the action on a report grading laboratory represented a corner “Pavilion” to. This measure is very important, especially in the corners, a very small angle change can have a significant impact on the visual beauty and brilliance of diamonds. Again … As the angle of the Crown … There is no one as “best.” It is the combination of crown and pavilion angles, to work together to produce counterfeit goods. Of course there are limits, and angle measurements in certain areas, which tend to produce the finest diamonds. As we move through the chapters following cutting, we will examine various forms, and how to change the angle of the main pavilion facets, can affect performance and beauty of a diamond. The House of the lower girdle facets FacetsThe, as its name indicates, and as the girdle facets than the multiple facets that should be extended from the edge of the belt in the direction of the flag. They are among the main pavilion facets and two come together in groups. Figure 4 8
The main measure used to describe the multifaceted belt is smaller than the length, expressed as a percentage … the percentage of the distance between the edge of the cover facets of the girdle and the culet is. Its length is important because they can influence the visual beauty and appearance of a diamond, although its effect is not as great as the Net “Flag”. So … as its opposite, the upper girdle facets), the lower girdle facets (may also suffer the effects of painting and digging … we’ll talk later. CuletThe The culet is the point on the floor of the pavilion. The purpose of the culet is really to keep diamonds from becoming damaged on the bottom. Today, it is more likely to Culet a “none” or “acute” as most diamonds are known to be brought to the sharp point on field to see. It was not always the case. Especially in the older sections, it is quite common to see flat culet what a new facet to the underside of the diamond. The issue by a wide belt will cause it is a facet that has created parallel to the table. It opens a basis to pass the light at the bottom of the diamond, allowing light to pass directly through the diamond without leakage reflected towards the observer is to say “light.” Although the appearance of a large culet may be very tempting, especially in an ancient stone, it is important to understand that a lot of light through the underside of the stone may be lost and the general return of light affect the diamond. It is important to remember once again that diamonds staff, and is something that prevents a client side, it could be requested and appreciated by another. The belt GirdleThe are thin “band” around the widest part of the stone. The belt is very important, the size of a diamond, but not so much in the way of lighting performance. Instead, the belt around the strength of diamond to do. … After all being the diamond in the attitudes held by the belt, and even the fingers worn by its owner … there is more likely that the carrier is strike or slam the stone on his belt than any other part of the diamond. The belt is measured in the staff report laboratory is expressed in millimeters or percentage of the total depth of the stone. It is important to a belt, is d having the right thickness. The belt must be thick enough to be safe for the establishment, and certainly against peeling or cracking, but if the belt is too thick hide this weight “extra” in stone. “Excess weight is the carat weight, you pay for included in the price, but not in the real-mm diameter diamond to be seen. There are many places to hide diamond cutter of a stone in weight. .. the belt is one of them. We will discuss in more detail later in this tutorial. Now that we have time to failure taken different facets of a diamond … We will make the focus on reducing our next look into the world of cut flowers in the light of a shape and patterns at a time. We have this discussion in Chapter 5
