The Pen tool in cs2, cs3 , and cs4 in Illustrator and photoshop is the same. This tutorial will work for all of them.

I used to be afraid of the pen tool when I first learned photoshop! But when I started on Illustrator, I kind of adapted! I think illustrator forces you to learn the pen tool, idk!

it depends on what your doing. If your editing photos than photoshop is better, but if you wanna draw things from scratch than illustrator is better
